Be Recruitment are seeking casual youth workers in Gold Coast and Surrounding areas. You will be joining a dedicated team of highly skilled and professional youth workers who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

As a youth worker, you'll be there for young people facing various social and emotional hurdles, providing them with intensive therapeutic support to help them feel safe and secure.

You will work within a residential program and ensure that a homelike environment is maintained and that children and young people engage in activities that promote wellbeing and capacity development. 

Core responsibilities:

• Attend to the daily care needs of children and young people;
• Provide therapeutic support and guidance and ensure consistency of care at all times;
• Manage challenging and complex behaviours;
• Facilitate the operation of the residential household, including cleaning, cooking and other relevant tasks;
• Support and promote social, emotional, behavioural and developmental outcomes for children and young people

Essential Criteria

• A minimum of six months of paid experience in therapeutic residential care or crisis accommodation for young people
• Demonstrated experience supporting young people with complex and challenging behaviours
• Certificate IV or higher in a community-related field (or working towards)
• Full QLD Drivers Licence 
• Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Unrestricted Visa Holder
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Blue Card
• LCS Check
• Hope & Healing Certificate
• Willingness to undergo a police check 
• Must be available for day, evening, and weekend shifts including sleepover shifts
• Vaccinated or exempt from vaccination against COVID-19
