I am partnering with a large, national not-for-profit to support the growth of a specialist youth mental health service in Western Sydney. This team is doing incredibly important work supporting young people (12–25) who are at risk of, or experiencing, a first episode of psychosis—delivering care where it matters most, in the community.

This is not a clinic-based role. It is dynamic, mobile, and highly collaborative—working across homes, schools, and community settings to engage young people early and provide meaningful, recovery-oriented support.

The opportunity
You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering assertive, outreach-based mental health care. The focus is on early identification, timely intervention, and reducing the long-term impact of psychosis through evidence-based, person-centred practice.

What the role looks like

• Providing community-based mental health support to young people and their families
• Completing comprehensive clinical assessments, including biopsychosocial and risk assessments
• Delivering short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Managing a caseload from intake through to treatment and transition
• Working closely within a multidisciplinary team to inform care planning and outcomes
• Engaging young people through assertive outreach and flexible service delivery
• Participating in a rotating roster, including some evenings/weekends and occasional on-call

You will be supported within a structured clinical framework grounded in early psychosis models of care, with a strong emphasis on recovery, collaboration, and family involvement

What you will bring

• A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing
• Eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body
• Experience working in community or acute mental health settings
• Strong assessment skills and confidence in brief interventions
• An understanding of youth development and early intervention frameworks
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
• A current driver’s licence (this is a mobile, outreach-based role)
