Bonnie Support Services is a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation that has been assisting women—both with and without children—who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and domestic or family violence for 50 years.
Established in 1975, Bonnie Support Services is based in south-western Sydney and is soon to celebrate its 50th anniversary of providing crisis accommodation, transitional housing & Homelessness Support Services.
The organisation is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. It is governed by up to seven Board of Directors elected by its members in accordance with the Constitution. Board meetings take place approximately six to seven times per year plus quarterly financial meetings with the CEO and Head of Finance. These are carried out with a blend of online and some face-to-face attendance.

Essential CriteriaWe invite applications from women who have:
- Previous experience on a Board
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. GAICD or equivalent)
- An understanding of the challenges faced by women in the housing and homelessness system
- Finance and risk management expertise
We also welcome candidates with knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas for future appointments:
- Philanthropy and fundraising
- Human resource management
- Government policy and programmes
